Last week, I headed to Manchester to meet up with two of my favourite ladies, Candy and Lorna. I know them both from uni and as Graphic Designers, they want to develop their brand, create an awesome blog and showcase their talents. To help them out, I thought it’d be fun to get some great photos for them to promote themselves. This will not only show them at their best but have good photos on your blog can make your website stand out from the rest.
When showing off your brand, you’re showing you as a person. So you want the world to see you looking great. Poorly lit photos taken on your iphone on your last night out aren’t going to show off your personality and make you look professional, so it’s important to get great photos.
Our little shoot served a dual purpose… it was also a great excuse to meet up for a drink and catch up over what we’ve been up to over the summer so far.
We bought some flowers (I’m a little obsessed with flowers at the moment); peonies, gerber daisies and sunflowers. Flowers always look great in portraits. They give a lovely pop of colour and just look so pretty, don’t you think? After some cider and a good chat by the canals, we headed off for a few photos.
Portraits are totally my favourite kind of photoshoots. They’re just so much fun and I always end up with the giggles. In this case we were getting funny looks from passers by and being silly with our poses. I was terrified of the bridge, because every time a jogger ran by the bridge wobbled. Scary, but the others found it funny.
Candy and Lorna were looking fierce, I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos on their finished blogs. They’ll both be writing about life, design and lots of other things.
