A few weeks ago I headed off to Manchester to meet up with Emma. We met at Blogcademy back in June and she writes a blog that includes lots of yummy vegan recipes. You can see more of her fabulous creations over at Cooking Storm. I’m not a vegan myself but it is something I’d like to implement into my diet a little more often. This blog shows you how easy it is to eat healthy, nutritious vegan food that doesn’t cost the earth and also tastes great.

We started the day by meeting up and getting drinks. It was a pretty stuffy day plus it gave us a great chance to have a catch up, see how far we’d come on our blogging journeys since Blogcademy and discuss what she wanted out of the photos. Since we were in Manchester, I suggested we took a walk over to the northern quarter as I love how bohemian and stylish that area is. It wasn’t too far away so we went off to wander for any spots that we thought would look good.

I love the atmosphere and friendliness of the people of Manchester. It’s one of the things that I love the most from this city. We even had a group of random passers by gatecrash Emma’s photo. They were so funny. I wish that I’d gotten their details so that I could show them the photo.

After a few more snaps we headed over to the Federal Cafe & Bar in the Northern Quarter for a coffee. I’ve only been a few times but I love that place. The lovely staff very kindly let us take some of their flowers outside for some photos of Emma. We placed them on the table, and I got some pictures of Emma with her coffee. I loved how these turned out.

After that we were off to explore more locations. Since she focuses a lot of her recipes on fresh produce, we thought it would be a great idea to get some photos of her amongst fruit and veg. Choosing out the perfect items for her recipes and the owner of the fruit and veg shop we found near the Arndale was so friendly and let us take lots of photos. Being around all those delicious fruits and vegetables made us hungry though so we bought a huge punnet of strawberries each because they looked delicious.

After a little more wandering, we finished up near the cathedral and in found ourselves in ProperTea (It’s owned by Yvette Fielding, cool huh?) which I’m so going to again because their tea and cake selection is out of this world. Plus, I love the way the place is decorated. I bought a few heart-shaped scones to take home to Holly (They’re her favourite) and to have with the strawberries later that evening.

Meeting up with Emma was so lovely. One thing I like about a lot of the blogger photo shoots that I do is that they never feel like work or a job… I feel like I’m meeting up with a friend, taking a few pictures and having fun. I could do them every day.

Be sure to check out Cooking Storm and show Emma some love. I’m certainly going to try out some of her vegan recipes.
